About
Zeshaan Younus is an award-winning writer, producer, and director based in Orange County, CA. He is a first-generation American filmmaker whose father was born in Pakistan and mother was born in Mexico. Through his art, Zeshaan aims to earnestly and collaboratively explore esoteric and existential narrative themes.
Zeshaan’s decades-long obsessions (the occult, black metal, and the work of Terrence Malick) drive his creative choices and serve as a unique personal lens. His short film exploring the alien abduction phenomenon, PREFIGURED, was acquired by DUST, the sci-fi division of independent studio Gunpowder & Sky.
In November 2022, Zeshaan completed principal photography on his debut desert found footage feature, THE BUILDOUT (Ethos Releasing), starring Jenna Kanell (TERRIFIER). In summer/fall 2024, Zeshaan began production on his sophomore feature, I’VE SEEN ALL I NEED TO SEE, which had its World Premiere at the 2025 Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival and won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature.
Zeshaan is also a musician, photographer, and motorcycle enthusiast. Outside of his artistic explorations, he has an established career in government relations and serves in leadership roles for multiple non-profit organizations.
